Join our team to be part of a variety of novel treatments, such as CAR-T, that has demonstrated our commitment to ending cancer.
G19W Leukemia is one of three units dedicated to the care of the acute/chronic and remission Leukemia patient. The Leukemia patient is on the receiving end of some novel therapies for the treatment of their respective cancer such as Autologous Chimeric Antigen Receptor-T Cell (CAR-T cells) which has shown great clinical promise and standard/ investigational or consolidation chemotherapies. Nurses are responsible for organizing the care of the patient including the administration of chemotherapy, blood products, electrolyte replacements, monitoring the patient on telemetry and any cardiac drips. The primary nurse is also responsible for working with the primary team towards a successful discharge inclusive of patient and family teaching.
Ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited school of professional nurse, TX RN license with a minimum of 12 months recent RN experience in an inpatient setting on a Medical/Surgical unit. Prior Oncology / Hematology experience a plus. BLS and/or ACLS certification required.
Shift is 7 am - 7 pm & 26 out of 52 weekends per year

Minimum $31.73 - Midpoint $43.27 - Maximum $54.81

Function: Manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care.
Scope: Impacts quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Job Functions: Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area.
Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team.
Collaborates with physicians, other services, patient and patient's family to plan care and evaluate outcomes.
Improves practice by integrating results and theories of research studies.
Participates in data collection for current studies.
Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies.
Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from Computer systems.
Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services.
Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights.
Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Preferred Experience : 12 months of recent medical/surgical RN experience in an inpatient setting.
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
