MD Anderson Cancer Center Accelerator Technician II in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Accelerator Technician position is to perform advanced technical assignments related to the maintenance and operation of accelerators and other large complex radiation-producing equipment found in a radiation therapy facility. Operates and repairs equipment relating to radiation therapy activities.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Troubleshooting Troubleshoots and repairs radiation therapy accelerators and associated equipment (including proton accelerators), simulators, and other equipment related to radiation therapy activities.
Proton Therapy related tasks Performs responsibilities at the Proton Therapy Center.
Proton Therapy related tasks Monitor daily activities of the Radiation Oncology Clinic
Other duties as assigned
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required: Four years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment. With preferred degree, two years of electronics experience is required.
