MD Anderson Cancer Center Accountant III - Fac Mgt Finance in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Accountant III position is to assist the institution by providing accurate and timely project cost information. This is accomplished by providing skilled accounting experience and progressive administrative leadership in the daily management of project cost accounting.

Document Processing Review, approve and process UT System CIP and non-CIP project cost items including requisitions, change orders, invoices, statements of services rendered, and applications for payment, to ensure compliance with established procedures, regulations and vendor contract terms.

Reconciliations Performs monthly project cost reconciliations to ensure accuracy between MDACC general ledger and construction accounting sub-ledger (Timberline). Reconcile, analyze and resolve problems which arise. Propose solutions to issues or process improvement ideas.

Continuously Trained Staff Ensure compliance with Internal Controls. Become familiar with, maintain current knowledge of, and ensure the appropriate internal controls are established and maintained. Internal controls should adhere to Regents rules, Office of Facilities Planning and Construction procedures, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules and State laws governing agency.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Three years accountant experience with a Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field. Two years of accountant experience with a Bachelor's in Accounting.
