MD Anderson Cancer Center Administrative Assistant - Radiation Oncology in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant position is to include coordinating and managing communication systems for the Department of Radiation Oncology and the delivery, pick-up, and distribution of departmental mail. The incumbent provides helpful and courteous assistance to patients, family members, and guests. They will perform responsible secretarial back-up work within the department for physician(s) and/or staff personnel as assigned by immediate supervisor.
The salary range is min $ 36,000 mid $ 45,000 max $ 54,000.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Maintains departmental and clinical directories.
Provides daily up-dates of departmental staff's coverage.
2. CALENDAR MANAGEMENT:
Maintains faculty/staff requests for time off and clinic coverage via myHR and Outlook service calendars for vacation, sick leave, and absences.
Responsible for departmental timekeeping via Kronos and myHR Calendar.
Responsible for scheduling of conference rooms within the department.
3. DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:
Performs daily mail runs (1): pick-up & distribute mail to appropriate mail slots which requires walking to various departmental sections as well as other areas within the institution. Requires lifting mail packages weighing 5 to 10 pounds.
Responsible for projects as assigned by Supervisor.
Responsible for attending and successfully completing educational courses as assigned by Supervisor.
Processes and tracks departmental purchase requisitions and maintains departmental/divisional supply inventory.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelors degree.
Required: Four years of administrative/secretarial experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
