One of the largest multidisciplinary programs for lymphoma and myeloma in the U.S., the department includes 25 faculty members, 20 of whom see and treat patients. Patients benefit from a team approach that includes our colleagues in radiology, surgery, radiation therapy, hematopathology, and stem cell transplantation, as well as clinical pharmacists, research and clinical nurses, social workers, and dietitians.
Salary Range: Min- $90,000 Mid- $112,500 Max- $135,000
Essential Job Functions-
Conducts comprehensive health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops treatment plans, initiates appropriate care and continuously evaluates care outcomes. Performs delegated functions under the supervision of the physician to include differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and/or treatment of a variety of human responses throughout the wellness to illness spectrum according to practice guidelines, protocols or standing orders. Uses judgment to work autonomously as defined by the nurse practice act or to collaborate with the healthcare team to manage client care throughout the continuum of care and in a variety of settings. Serves as a clinical resource, utilizing advanced nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills to act as interdisciplinary consultant and client advocate. Provides nursing, education and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic disease. Accepts accountability for outcomes in health care. Promotes quality health care through integration of current research into practice.
Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice. May be waived for applicants who obtained recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing prior to 1/1/2003. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
