MD Anderson Cancer Center Asset Technician, Police Department in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Asset Technician position is to ensure University Police vehicles are well maintained and institutional assets are properly accounted for throughout useful life. Impacts the safety of the public and officers, as well as promotes the safeguarding of institutional assets assigned to the University Police.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Reviews and maintains vehicle inspection reports and performs daily inspections of University Police vehicles.
Authorizes and schedules all maintenance and/or repairs and arranges delivery of vehicle to and from vendor.
Reconciles, logs, and files all departmental gas receipts, mileage usage reports, and vehicle maintenance/repair charges (State vehicle usage log) for submission to Fleet Management.
Assets and Inventory
Maintains departmental assets inventory and prepares annual institutional reports.
Coordinates with Assets Management the tagging of new equipment and coordinates equipment transfers as needed. Issues, retrieves, and maintains inventory records of uniforms and equipment assigned to University Police personnel.
Orders, issues, and maintains records of University Police keys.
Receives, routes, and maintains institutional requests for master keys.
Contacts vendors for availability and pricing information for uniforms, equipment, and repairs and submits internal requisition forms for approval and order placement.
May be assigned a procurement card for payment of small orders and repairs; reconciles monthly invoices.
Oversees locker assignments.
Other Duties as Assigned
Including but not limited to:
Emergency recall and/or may be required to remain onsite or work extended hours during man-made or natural disasters and unusual occurrences on campus.
Local or long distance travel may be required for training or other business purposes occasionally.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required: Four years of experience in police/security work, fleet and/or asset control, inventory maintenance or related field.
Required: Valid Texas Class A, B or C Driver's license.
