MD Anderson Cancer Center Assistant Professor - Anesthesiology & PeriOper Med in Houston, Texas

The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas is recruiting an anesthesiologist with expertise in clinical research over the next 6-12 months. This is a full-time academic anesthesiology position at the rank of assistant or associate professor, clinical faculty appointment (CFA), and will initially carry an 80% clinical effort with 20% effort dedicated to clinical research. Fellowship specialty training with experience in academic anesthesiology is strongly preferred. Candidates would be able to demonstrate excellence in clinical research thru peer reviewed publications, serving as a PI on randomized controlled trials, current grant funding, and in developing post-doctoral research fellows. Senior faculty research mentorship and clinical research infrastructure will be provided. Assistant Professors are expected to have at minimum 2 years as Instructor or at minimum 4 years post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee.

Associate Professors are expected to have at minimum 5 years experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent or at minimum 8 years post clinical degree.

Required Qualifications:

New faculty members will be expected to be board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or approved foreign equivalent) and be actively participating in the Maintenance of Certification Program, or in the examination system with the ABA. All will need to possess an unrestricted Texas medical license in good standing before onboarding.
