Big Data Architecture
Understands and reviews business requirements, architecture design and proposed solutions in accordance with our Big Data standards and requirements. Tasks include understanding Big Data architecture and design, security design, Kerberos, High Availability configuration and disaster recovery plans. Able to work with SASA or PASA on environment installation, configuration, maintenance, security and monitoring of the Big Data environment. Knowledge of the Cloudera or Azure stack and its architecture.
Big Data Development and Design
Understands the institutional standards and guidelines for ingesting, transforming, governing and analyzing data. Development tasks include but are not limited to coding, troubleshooting, testing, documenting and keeping the Big Data standards according to M. D. Anderson Information Services policies and procedures and best practices. Presents developed solutions in a code review session with the other integration administrators' in an effort to ensure consistent methodologies/standards and makes recommendations where necessary. Efforts include job scheduling, custom code development, troubleshooting, Big Data component installation and configuration, participating in meetings between internal teams, customers and other departments. Previous experience with Cloudera or Azure Data Flow, NiFi and other streaming and batch integration components for loading data into Big Data storage.
Big Data Production Support
Assists in the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance and administration of the Big Data environment. Understands Linux and the Unix operating system. Provides after hours support (on-call) as needed for daily, weekly, and monthly processes. Responsible for monitoring system availability, performance, backups, disaster recovery. Understanding of Big Data security like Kerberos.
Other duties as assigned
Two years' experience in domain, analysis, design, project management, Epic software or programming. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
