The inpatient Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular units are on the 17th and 18th floors. They have a total of 96 beds and are the largest program of its kind in the world, performing around 800 transplants per year.

Function:

Responsible for the lateral integration of care, achieving quality patient outcomes, and maintaining patient safety at the microsystem level.

Scope:

Impacts patient care and clinical operations for the nursing division.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Provides clinical leadership to the nursing and interdisciplinary team.

Advocates for improvements in health care systems, policies, procedures, and the professional roles of nurses and other health care providers.

Organizes and prioritizes work of patient care team.

Assures continuity of care as patients transition across the continuum through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services. Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area.

Educates, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

Collaborates with physicians, other services, patient and patient's family to plan care and evaluate outcomes.

EDUCATION

Required:

Master's degree in nursing with an emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader role.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Two years clinical nurse experience in inpatient hospital setting.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Required:

Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN) and Clinical Nurse Leader Certification.
