Resource Nurse

The RN team member manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care.

The RN team member impacts quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Job Functions

As a resource nurse, this RN team member is accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned areas to include clinic coverage, resource nurse calls, contrast simulation workflows and other outpatient clinical nurse duties as assigned.

A detailed orientation will be provided to ensure competency in all areas.

Required:

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.

Certification/Licensure

Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200).

Experience

Preferred: 3 plus years of nursing experience. Experience with IV and port-a-cath (PAC) access and de-access. Experience with patients receiving contrast. Experience with Epic Health Information System.
