The primary purpose of the Patient Services Coordinator position is to provide and coordinate all tasks associated with patient services within an ambulatory/procedure area environment: duties include but not limited to patients scheduling, physician and clinic template maintenance. Monitor, train, evaluate, and coach/mentor new Patient Service Coordinators.

Patient Services Coordinator opportunity in Anesthesia, Critical Care & Pain Clinical Support. The ideal candidate will have three years relevant customer service/administrative experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to work in multiple work queues, multi-task, and possess flexibility. Experience working in a fast paced environment and with EPIC is a plus.

*Varied shift: 7am – 4pm, 8am – 5pm, and 9am-6pm*

Salary range: min- $28,800 mid- $36,000 max - $43,200

  1. Demonstrates accuracy and analytical skill in the interpretation and coordination of physician orders to schedule diagnostic tests, procedures, treatments, and physician appointments. Collaborate with clinic management to maintain daily physician templates ensuring that the waiting times by physician and patient are kept to a minimum. Ensures delivery of quality patient care in relation to the patients prescribed diagnosis, treatment, and other directives from physicians, nurses, and/or administrators with the use of positive team-building behaviors.

  2. Clearly and accurately convey appointment information to the patients in a timely manner in person, by telephone, computer, or in writing. Provide patients with pertinent information regarding their schedule, and the preparations needed for ancillary appointments. Provide direction to patients scheduled for diagnostic tests, treatment, procedures, or other services using a clear and understandable voice. This includes both scheduled and walk-in patients.

  3. Manage, monitor, and facilitate completion of the patient scheduling process to ensure optimal efficiency in clinic operations and resources while maintaining the institution's standards of customer service and quality patient care. Monitor patient flow for assigned physicians during clinic as part of team.

  4. Receive multiple telephone calls from internal/external customers, and direct calls appropriately in an expedient, courteous and friendly manner. Take accurate and complete messages. Respond to overhead pages for assigned nurse when she is with patients in clinic. Fosters open communication as demonstrated by information accuracy, truthfulness, active listening skills and professional maturity.

Required: Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis.
