EEO Investigator/Specialist - EEO and HR Regulations

The primary purpose of the HR Specialist (EEO) is to ensure institutional compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, equal employment opportunity laws, Regents Rules and institutional policies. The HR Specialist (EEO) will provide specialized investigative and preventative EEO services to the institution. As member of the Strategic Partners, the HR Specialist (EEO) collaborates with employees at all levels to:

  • Increase awareness of sound HR principles and practices

  • Identify trends and develop methods for proactively addressing issues

  • Provide input and support to institutional initiatives

  • Mitigate risk

  • “Do the Right Thing”

Ideal candidate will have five years’ recent investigative experience in investigating in academic or healthcare; Title IX, EEO and EEOC investigation. Bilingual Spanish.* *

Salary Range:

$76,400 - $95,500 - $114,600

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Conducts timely and effective investigations and fact-findings in accordance with established investigatory guidelines to include intake, interviews, data analysis, resolution, report writing, and record keeping.

  • Provides subject matter expertise and consultation to client groups and Human Resources.

  • Facilitates assigned departmental and regulatory processes.

  • Keeps abreast of current state and federal laws and regulations.

Know the Business of the Client

  • Partner with Human Resources Consultants to gain relevant knowledge regarding their respective clients.

  • Provide resources to HR Consultants and their respective clients to promote compliance and ensure appropriate remedial actions are taken.

  • Provide timely status updates to HR Consultants and their respective clients.

  • Written Communication: Convey information clearly and concisely through both formal and informal documents; adapt writing style to fit the audience.

Be a Change Agent

  • Support compliance efforts by providing/reviewing content material for customized regulatory institutional training.

  • Collaborate with HR partners to develop strategic communication plans related to regulatory activities.

  • Lead change efforts amongst peers in the Division of HR.

  • Take appropriate risks, provide candid observations and influence others in a caring, respectful and productive manner.

  • Lead/participate in reconciliation efforts.

  • Capitalize on opportunities to share best practices and advance delivered outcomes.

  • Strategic Thinking: Define strategic goals and issues clearly; apply broad knowledge and experience when addressing strategic issues; foresee obstacles and opportunities relating to change or improvement.

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Human Resources or related field. Seven years experience in a related field. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience or completed years of college on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, five years of required experience.
