As a member of the Cancer Network team, the Executive Director, Projects and Operations (ExD), provides direction and oversight of the designated Cancer Network project(s). The ExD will:
Contribute to theachievement of the institution’s overall mission and goals.
Provide expertise in multidisciplinaryoncology planning to ensure that the necessary resources are available to meetthe standards and practices of MD Anderson prospective patient centeredmultidisciplinary care.
Contribute to financial and strategic planning in alignment withthe institution’s clinical, business and financial goals.
Implement, review and report on the operational plans for thedesignated project(s) ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood andexecuted by the related teams.
Develop and lead pre-operationaland operational activities in identifying, managing and implementing new collaborativeopportunities with potential healthcare partners.
Develop strategicoperational plans for the project(s).
Develop detailedpre-operational and operational planning for clinical, research, and businesscomponents across all MD Anderson products.
Present strategicproject recommendations for the designated project(s) to senior leaders.
Leadmultidisciplinary teams during pre-operations and operations to ensure thegoals of the program are obtained.
Provideleadership over projects throughout the integration to implementation phasesand ensure client objectives are met.
Through monitoring of metrics, routine site visits,and ongoing personal and committee communication, assume primary responsibilityto ensure partners practice the MD Anderson model of multidisciplinary care ofsufficient quality and patient experience.For new partners and those in early operations, integrate with partnerclinical and administrative staff as expert, advisor, and decision leader,through frequent site visits, inclusion in all committees, and participation incritical cancer program operational decisions.
Plan and execute designated partner relationshipcommittee meetings.
Manage and mentor clinical support consultants (allnon-physician consultants) for orientation, quality of deliverables,relationship management, and time tracking on the project(s).
Perform site assessments for consulting clients,potential partners and affiliates to include multidisciplinary care, administrativestructure and clinical outpatient operations.
Serve as subject matter expert for multidisciplinarycare, nursing, outpatient operations, and administrative structure forconsulting projects and international associate members, and other projects andprograms as required.
For partners in operations, spearhead clinical supportservices integration through routine videoconferences, meetings, etc., toinclude Advanced Practice Providers, clinical nurses, patient education,volunteer services, survivorship, cancer prevention, integrative medicine,pharmacy, etc., based on needs of each partners.
Serve as primary non-physician liaison for allclinical connections between designated Cancer Network partner(s).
While conducting site visits, evaluate partnerprocesses and practices for best practices and facilitate collaboration with MDAnderson staff to adopt them as appropriate.
May be required to work non-traditional work hours toaccommodate workload and delivery of deadline-driven projects. 50% travel, some international, to beexpected.
Given: Non-physician Cancer Network clinical support consultants
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration or related field
Required: A minimum of seven (7) years of related healthcare experience, to include management and leadership responsibilities
Preferred: A minimum of 10 years of related experience within a healthcare/ business environment, including detailed management skills
In-depth knowledge of health care delivery foroncology patients, in particular multidisciplinary care
Superior skills in strategic and financialanalysis as well as strong communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to manage direct reportsand cross-functional teams
Proven ability to conceptualize and analyzecomplex business problems and issues
Excellent communication and influencing skills,including management of cross functional teams
