MD Anderson Cancer Center Facilities Information Manager - BIM / CADD in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of Manager, CADD position is to manage building information management, drafting and support services related to remodeling, renovation, new construction and equipment replacement projects to support operational needs of the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Oversees BIM implementation and monitoring. Participates in process and quality improvement initiatives. Manages, develops and implements the "as built" facilities program. Manages all aspects of human resources as related to supervision, recruitment, retention, compensation, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations and staff motivation. Determines and procures appropriate design and document management technology. Provides training and technical CADD support to divisional users. Customizes AutoCAD software appropriate for the "as built" document management program. Develops, implements and monitors CAD standards.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Provide leadership and oversight of institutional space data.
- Provide leadership and oversight of institutional space data. This includes:
a. Institutional Space Survey: Conduct annual institutional space survey at a regular frequency. The goal of the institutional space survey is to work with institutional representatives to collect and document space assignment, usage, type, function, principal investigators and other pertinent information. Reconcile and report space information to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
b. Management of Institutional Space Information: Management of building, room, and floor, and g data in Archibus (CB space use codes, departmental codes, other internal codes as defined by THECB). Super user/Administrator of the Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) program Archibus. The program incorporates current 'as built' architectural plans with current space related information about the physical assets of the Institution as defined by the THECB.
c. Room Numbering: Maintain records related to all space information, documenting room numbers and all associated text. Provide room numbers for all areas of renovation, remodeling, or new building to ensure compliance with established graphic standards.
d. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Reporting: Annual reporting of the CB14 (building) and the CB11 (rooms). Provide support on space utilization data, ad hoc reports, and resources, if required, for extensive studies and surveys.
2. Facilities Information Management Execute the delivery of all facilities information needs for the division. Responsible for the management, maintenance and accuracy of the division's "as-built" and existing conditions drawings. Executes on the appropriate division processes to collect, store, maintain, update and distribute facility "as-built" records to the division. Responsibility for the maintenance of accurate information related to the as-built conditions of UTMDACC facilities for daily operational use and regulatory compliance. Manage the FIM Team - hire, train and supervise, evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance and productivity. Manage the Facilities library and facilities document management to ensure all project documentation is in compliance with the MDA standards, specifications and contracts. Manage quality control and enforcement process to ensure projects adhere to the established deliverables and standards. Manage the utility locate process and make improvements to improve efficiency and information sharing.
3. Leadership and oversight of the Institution's Wayfinding system Provides Leadership and oversight of the Institution's Wayfinding system. Provides program management of the institutional signage standards, institutional art program, technology systems related to Wayfinding System and its' management, master plans, enhancements and communications related to the program. Represent the Institution on the TMC Wayfinding Committee. Also responsible for the sign shop, inventory and installation of institutional artwork and ensures the signage standards and systems comply with American Disabilities Act (ADA), code requirements as per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR), and other relevant code requirements through proper reviews and assists in the design effort to achieve compliance.
4. CADD/BIM Standards CADD/BIM Standards - Responsible for the management and maintenance of institution CADD/BIM standards for use by the division. Responsible to insure that all projects with information delivery requirements are in compliance with MDACC standards. Provide user training and technical CADD/BIM support to FM users as needed. Responsible for the setup, configuration, and management of Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems, which includes traditional 2D and 3D design systems, Building Information Management systems, and other related technologies. Manage the process of recording and updating changes in existing condition drawings for all MDA facilities - architectural floor plans, MEP drawings, Life Safety drawings and other specialty drawings. Develop information storage/retrieval methods that allow stakeholders to access accurate information quickly and easily. This includes support for all CAD software, CAD vendor management, and training of in-house CAD users
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or related field. Seven years of AutoCAD experience and/or CADD system administration, to include three years of supervisory or managerial experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
