MD Anderson Cancer Center Fitness Center Specialist in Houston, Texas

Provides fitness instruction to member at all fitness levels. Impacts the Culture of Health institutional strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensures maintenance of main exercise areas and studios. Completes daily equipment cleaning. Identifies and reports any safety concerns or equipment defects. Participates in wellness tasks and events. Conducts orientations, fitness assessments, and monitors exercise participants. Teaches fitness classes and/or performs personal training sessions as scheduled.
Other Duties as Assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Public Health, Community Health Education or related field.
Preferred: Experience in worksite wellness in a healthcare environment.
REQUIRED: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
PREFERRED: Current personal training certification through a national organization (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, etc.).
Current group exercise certification through a reputable national organization (ACSM, NSCA, ACE, YMCA, AFAA, etc.).
Current wellness certification through a national organization (CHES, WELCOA, NWI, etc.)
