Summary
Function Provides basic skills necessary to perform a variety of food service tasks including cleaning, sanitation, food preparation, food set up and food service.
Scope Impacts environmental and food safety and customer and patient service.
Essential Job Functions Requisition food and supplies for assigned work area. Prepares and set up meals based on assigned work area such as catering, retail stations or room service tray line. Participates in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen by sweeping, mopping, ware washing, pot washing, equipment cleaning and disposing of garbage as assigned.
Other duties as assigned. May be moved to new locations and/or shifts as operations dictate. Cross training may also involve shift changes.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
Preferred: Six months of experience in hospital or commercial food service operation.
Licensure/Certification
Required: Must obtain a current Texas Food Handlers Certification within 60 days of entry into job.
