MD Anderson Cancer Center Maintenance (Generator) Technician - Monday-Friday, 4:30am-1pm in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician position is to provide demonstrated sub-journeyman-level work in a designated craft. This position impacts the routine maintenance and repairs of equipment, systems and buildings. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under direct supervision performs routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings and utility systems using one or more craft trade skills. Maintains records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Installation, Alteration, Operation, Maintenance, and Repair
Assists with installation, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment for generators and assists with general maintenance duties. Cleans and maintains all equipment and work areas. Follows all safety precautions, and ensures knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job. Accurately and timely completes all required paperwork - activity logs, etc. Operates lifts, equipment, and heavy equipment to provide general maintenance services, site work and cleaning etc.
Assists with preventative maintenance of above systems and equipment.
General Assistance and Support
Provides general assistance and support to the HVPS and other craft/trades. Helps unload and move equipment, and supplies.
On-Call / After-Hours / Emergency Response
Provides on-call after-hours and emergency response and maintenance/repair. Coordinates with and provides backup support for work performed by HVPS and generator group
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation)
