MD Anderson Cancer Center Maintenance Technician - Monday-Friday - Nights in Houston, Texas
Work Schedule: 11pm-7:30am
Repair and maintain Pneumatic Tube, Trash and Linen system related electronic and control equipment, respond to customer calls, provide support to emergencies, critical thinking and leadership.
Maintain, Repair and Troubleshoot - Subject Matter Expert As SME: diagnostics, troubleshooting/repair and PM of these systems/devices; pneumatic tube, pneumatic trash and linen systems. Coordinates and prioritizes technicians' workflow with supervisor. Troubleshoot equipment in/out of control systems; replace/repair components. Performs functions as required on live circuits and in operating controls enclosures using proper PPE at all times. May install, troubleshoot and repair DC low voltage and 120V AC, per NEC guidelines. Install, calibrate, and check assigned systems. Skilled in practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of an electronics technician trade. Skilled in the use and operation of fixed and mobile computer equipment and programs necessary to operate and diagnose these systems. Maintain, service, and repair typical building electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems. Run conduit, pull wire, and install circuits for electrically powered units in these systems. Program microprocessors and operating controls. Knowledge and application of occupational hazards/safety precautions. May precept staff.
Respond to customer calls Timely response and communication with customers and supervisor for resolution and support with concerns or issues for pneumatic tube system, trash or linen system requests. Provide input to UHC reports and other system audits. Assists in Code Red or other emergency response teams as requested.
Document and communication Reads, draws, interprets electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings, one line diagrams and operations control sequence. Participates in the "Owners Design Guidelines" project design/review for these systems. Participates in outage investigation. Supports supervisor on projects and with contractors and vendors. Inspects work by others for compliance with code and standards. SME lead in commissioning these systems. Order materials/parts. Maintain sufficient spares to minimize systems downtime. Accurately document PMs, corrective action, labor hours, and materials used on work orders and prepares/submits reports in a timely manner. Participates in process improvement initiatives and system upgrades.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).
