Summary

The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant position is to provide patient care and customer service assistance to the ambulatory care patient, as delegated, and support daily operations of the center.

Key Functions

  1. Assists Staff:

  2. Responsibilities include completion of routine patient care assignments as delegated

  3. Accurately record vital signs and other data, report abnormalities to nursing staff.

  4. Assists Patients:

a. Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, greeting, rooming, and vital signs.

  3. Stock and maintain unit and patient care supplies and equipment.

  5. Escalates significant events and concerns regarding patients and their care to appropriate nursing staff

Education

Required: High School diploma or equivalent

License/Certification

Required: Completion of certified medical assistant training.

High school diploma/equivalent. One year of medical assistant experience. Preferred Education: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
