MD Anderson Cancer Center Organization Dev Consultant in Houston, Texas
The OD Consultant's role is to provide knowledge and experience related to the skills, structures, tools and support mechanisms needed to manage change and to foster an environment conducive to sustaining that change. In addition, the consultant will design, development, implement, and evaluate moderate scale programs that contribute to the fulfillment of institutional strategic and operational objectives. The OD Consultant serves as the owner for the organizational change management activities on IT projects; 50% of this role will be dedicated to IT specific change efforts.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Change enablement Systematically and rapidly assess, build, sustain, and evaluate the institution's ability to effectively introduce, manage and adopt change through consultation and the facilitated education of MD Anderson's change enablement model. Measure effectiveness of change management plans and make adjustments where necessary throughout all project phases. Identify, develop and implement approaches, processes and tools to monitor change adoption along the change curve prior to and post implementation at each phase of deployment. Identify key stages to implement change adoption monitoring (i.e. baseline, pre/post training, shortly after deployment, 6 months post deployment). Incorporate quantitative sustainability measures post deployment to supplement pre-deployment change adoption monitoring tools. Develop and define change measurement practices and lead team in tracking activities. Design and implement learning and performance support programs to ensure that the organization has the knowledge and capabilities to deliver the change.
Stakeholder Management Conduct Stakeholder Analyses and develop plans to ensure stakeholder readiness. Accountable for ensuring completion, presentation, and approval of stakeholder analysis documentation in accordance with program guidelines and integrating with readiness activities. Interacts with and communicates with stakeholders to manage expectations and reduce resistance to change at all levels. Provide support to project managers and team members to facilitate all aspects of the change. Generate and maintain advocacy at the executive level of the respective organizations and stakeholder buy-in for the implementation project. Works with project teams, training, and communications to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan.
Coaching Provide assistance to institutional leaders, their teams and staff at all levels in the planning, management, execution, and evaluation of organizational performance assessments, individual and team coaching, and/or structured interventions focused on improving work unit performance, manager-employee relationships, human resources management practices, employee performance management, and staff functioning.
Program Oversight Provide an on-going and comprehensive review of a program, including its people, processes, quality and effectiveness from the planning phase through to the program's completion. Ensure, at all times, that the program is being performed using best industry practices, prudent management decision-making and effective and transparent controls and reporting methods, and the implementation of continuous improvement or lessons learned.
Master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or related field. Four years in related field. With preferred degree, two years of required experience.
