MD Anderson Cancer Center Patient Representative-TMC (5:30a-2p) in Houston, Texas

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree with at least one year of office or related experience. Must be willing to work 5:30am - 2:00pm (varied days) including rotating weekends and holidays.

Function: Provides oversight for the patient/visitor screening and process.

Scope: Impacts department operations and institutional patient satisfaction programs.

Essential Job Functions: Assists patients, families and visitors with solving hospital-related problems. Identifies system problems that cause customer dissatisfaction and complaints and advocates a plan for improvement. Coordinates patient services, programs and activities.

Marginal Job Functions: Other duties assigned.

Qualifications - External

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in foreign language, social science, psychology, human relations or related field.

Experience

Required: One year of office or related experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Two years experience in a hospital setting. Verbal fluency in two or more languages (English being one of the languages).

Licensure/Certification

Preferred: Certification in adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

Other

Required: Must pass a pre-employment test as required and administered by Human Resources.
