Clinical Nurse Opportunity on our G18 - Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Unit
The Inpatient Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit is a 48 bed unit and is one of our designated immunotherapy floors, administering research protocols involving immunotherapy and CARTOX therapy to patients, including Phase 1 clinical trials. As such, our staff receive additional training to develop the skills needed to provide exceptional care to patients receiving this progressive therapy.
Function Manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care.
Scope Impacts quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resource in a designated area in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.
Essential Job Functions Provides for the management and provision of patient care. Collaborates with physicians, patient and patient's family to provide care and evaluate outcomes. Communicates with assigned multidisciplinary team and assure continuity of care. Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Provides continuum of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
EXPERIENCE: One year of relevant clinical nursing experience. Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
