MD Anderson Cancer Center Pharmacy Resource Specialist in Houston, Texas
The Division of Pharmacy at MD Anderson Cancer Center strives to be the industry leader in providing premier patient-centered care, based on excellence and innovation in patient care, services, research and education. Manages patient pharmacy needs through direct patient contact and communication with patient's primary payer source. Obtains prior authorizations/rejection overrides for drug therapy. Locates, screens, and assists patients with Patient Assistance Program (PAP) enrollments. Assists and responds to prescription test claims requests timely. Ensures Medicare Part B drug is being billed correctly and documentation is captured, scanned, and audit ready. Assists patients with Medicare Low Income Subsidy (LIS) enrollment and Medicare Part D enrollment. Researches copay cards/vouchers/copay foundation assistance for patients unable to afford their medications. Works with PBS to validate discounts for self-pay patients. Meets productivity guidelines (rejections, test claims, PAP enrollments) while providing complete and accurate information. Documents all work activities in all pharmacy and institutional systems timely and thoroughly.
Manages and coordinates financial issues for pharmacy cashier services including but not limited to daily deposits, refunds, inhouse charges review, and Point of Sale issues.
Acknowledges/replies/responds to emails and phone calls timely with thorough/detailed/accurate information. Completes education classes by deadline as required by management / institution

Education: Bachelor of Business Administration or related degree.
Experience: Three years of pharmacy reimbursement, case management, managed care or insurance industry experience as well as knowledge of information retrieval, computer database, and/or spreadsheet management. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience in a one to one basis.
