Minimum: $90,000 – Midpoint: $112,500 –Maximum: $135,000


Obtains medical history and performs physicalexam on patients. Interprets diagnostic tests and radiographic resultsand come up with a management plan for patients in concert with facultyphysicians. Takes responsibility for patient assessment, triage, andtherapeutic management of patient needs as an integral part of aninterdisciplinary team. Dictates in chart for all patients seen. Reviews/ordersdiagnostic tests and radiographic results. Formulates and manages patienttreatment plans and outcomes. Performs procedures, prescribes treatment, andsigns prescriptions in accordance with institution and state requirements.Screens physician calls to educate patient/family on care and resources. Managepre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the attendingphysician and Fellows. An in-depth understanding of the pathophysiology ofboth cancer as well as surgical process and wound healing is necessary. Providepatient education which requires good interpersonal skills and a workingknowledge of urologic oncology. Coordinate patient care withmultidisciplinary team to include but not limited to Physician, Mid-levels,providers from other hospital services, in-patient and outpatient nurses, CaseManagers, Social Workers, Physical Therapist, Pharmacists, RespiratoryTherapists and other Allied Health team members.


Required: Graduate of aPhysician Assistant training program approved by the Council of MedicalEducation of the American Medical Association.


Required: PA certification bythe National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Licensed by the Texas State Board ofPhysician Assistant Examiners.

MAYBE REQUIRED: Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the Stateof Texas.
