MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoc - Gynecologic Oncology & Reproductive Medicine (Dr. Mok's Lab) in Houston, Texas
We seek a highly motivated individual for a post-doctoral position to aid in ongoing projects to identify immune checkpoint modulators, stromal epithelial crosstalk signaling networks, and therapeutic targets in ovarian cancer. The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative environment focused on translational research. Specific responsibilities include planning, designing, completing, and troubleshooting experiments. The candidate will be expected to prepare technical summaries for use in proposals, protocols, presentations at internal and national meetings, and publication of research papers. The candidate will be expected to make and record detailed observations and maintain a complete and thorough laboratory notebook.
Candidates with a solid background in transgenic mouse models of cancer, hormone signaling pathways, or tumor immunology are especially encouraged to apply.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
To study crosstalk signaling networks among various cell types in the tumor microenvironment, the mechanisms of immunosuppression, and therapeutic resistance in ovarian and mesonephric adenocarcinomas using spatially resolved multi-omics platforms and animal models.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Highly motivated applicants with an MD., Ph.D. degree with 0 to 1-year postdoc experience and strong interests in the areas of spatial multi-omics, tumorigenesis, microbiome, and immune surveillance, and experience in molecular/cell biology and mouse disease models are encouraged to apply.
Must-Have:
MD., Ph.D. with extensive knowledge of basic molecular and cell culture techniques.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson follows the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein - NRSA (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-23-076.html) . This full-time trainee position will provide a salary between $56,484 to $68,604, dependent upon the years of postgraduate experience.
