MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Neurosurgery Research (brain tumor cell biology) in MDA-On-Site, United States

The post-doctoral position will involve basic and translational research in the area of brain tumor cell biology and mouse models of primary and metastatic brain cancer. There will be a particular emphasis on the brain microenvironment, including studies of how primary and metastatic tumor cells co-opt the neurovascular unit/blood-brain barrier for selective growth and survival.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The post-doc will receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling pathways involved in tumor cell-stromal cell interactions. Biochemical, molecular genetics, and cell biological techniques will also be emphasized.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The applicant should have a PhD and/or MD as well as peer-reviewed publications or manuscripts under review in internationally recognized journals. A strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology is also required.
