MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Urology (Dr. Lee's laboratory) in Houston, Texas

Dr. Byron Lee's laboratory in the Department of Urology is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. Our research is focused on understanding the biological effects of chromatin modifier gene mutations on bladder cancer initiation, progression, and response to therapies. We utilize a range of techniques, including biochemical and molecular biology methods, next-generation sequencing (including single-cell sequencing), and genome editing to study these processes in cell culture, mouse models, and patient-derived models.

The ideal candidate will have a broad and deep understanding of cancer biology and already mastered fundamental techniques in biochemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology. Additionally, candidates must have excellent spoken and written communication skills, and a strong publication record that demonstrates the candidate's ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Other desirable skills include the ability to perform computational biology analyses of next-generation sequencing data and experience with various mouse cancer models.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Conduct bladder cancer research using state-of-the-art techniques and models (in vitro and in vivo).

Independently design and troubleshoot experiments while ensuring the highest level of scientific rigor and reproducibility.

Generate, analyze, organize, and present data in written and oral form.

Work effectively in a team environment.

Direct and mentor assigned laboratory personnel.

Navigate the scientific publication process and write persuasive grant applications.

Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
