MD Anderson Cancer Center Jobs

Job Information

MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Alternative RNA processing in cancer research - Peggy Lee Lab in MDA-On-Site, United States

Open postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the Department of Genetics under the direct supervision of Dr. Shih-Han "Peggy" Lee. Research in the Lee Laboratory focuses on the role of alternative RNA processing in cancer. Our work also addresses fundamental questions in gene expression and cancer biology using cutting-edge technologies, including multicolor Flow cytometry, CRISPR-editing and screening, and large-scale omic analysis. We hope to better understand the biological importance of transcriptomic alterations in driving tumorigenesis and provide novel strategies for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic intervention.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The individuals will use next-generation sequencing to identify RNA aberrations in patient tumor cells. They will also learn experimental approaches and methods to investigate the pathogenic impact of aberrant RNAs on cancer development and biology. They will participate in collaborative projects and present their work at national and international conferences.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with a strong background in cancer and cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields. Previous expertise with tissue culture is preferred. Experience with CRISPR screens and Flow cytometry analysis is a plus but not required. Highly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
