MD Anderson Cancer Center Program Coordinator - Behavioral Science in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator is to coordinate activities related to the Active Living after Cancer Program, a program focusing on quality of life and increasing physical activity in cancer survivors, served at the MD Anderson Houston Area Locations (HALs). The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will serve as the training and evaluation center for the program, and will collaborate with the HALs to implement the program.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Program Initiation and Support

  • Facilitates and develops program training for program implementers, participant materials, and evaluation standard operating procedures

  • Facilitates site orientation and meetings with implementers

  • Responsible for training personnel who will deliver the ALAC program at HALs, to include ALAC program curriculum and database/metrics.

  • Establishes relationships and initiates ALAC program with HALs.

  • Coordinates logistics for implementing ALAC at HALs, assesses site capacity and develops referral, marketing and communication plans.

  • Oversees ECHO sessions in providing continuing support to HALs.

Program Evaluation

  • Responsible for protocol submissions for this program

  • Ensures appropriate completion of questionnaires throughout program and maintains necessary documentation associated with participation, both participant-level and organization-level data

  • Collects evaluation data on an on-going basis

  • Reviews health program sessions to ensure health educators are implementing program as designed

  • Oversees entry of program data for accuracy. Coordinates development of periodic progress reports and abstracts/posters for conferences

Program Facilitation and Communication

  • Maintains program communication with stakeholders.

  • Coordinates program related meetings, prepares agendas and maintains meeting documentation. Responsible for updating PIs, Co-Is and Program Manager on the following:

  • Assists in identifying recruitment opportunities and promoting the ALAC program

  • Maintains documentation of group session locations, maintains map and schedules of group classes

  • Maintains all appropriate program related documentation

  • Leads ECHO sessions and responsible for ECHO session material

  • Provides program materials to program implementers at HALs

  • Provides ongoing technical assistance to program implementers using Zoom

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field

Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration or related field

Experience

Required: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
