MD Anderson Cancer Center Program Coordinator - Cancer Prevention & Control Platform in Houston, Texas

Provides highly responsible program coordination for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform's operational execution, financial integration, programmatic functions, and administrative needs. Performs complex administrative tasks while coordinating and directing special projects requiring strategic thinking and independent decision making in a collaborative environment that impact the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform's efficiency and productivity. Provides administrative support for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform's executive director as needed. Must be able to adopt and integrate the purpose and values, behavioral philosophy, quality commitment, and policies and procedures of MD Anderson and the Moon Shots Program into all daily activities.

SALARY RANGE : $44,800.00- $57,400.00- $70,000.00


1.Provides program coordination support for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform's operational execution and programmatic functions

  • Coordinates meeting arrangements, assists with presentation preparation, and provides staff support as needed

  • Assists with meeting agenda development and documents decisions and action items

  • Provides analytical support to projects, such as collating evaluation data or summarizing data

  • Assists with project tracking and developing reports for Cancer Prevention & Control Platform leadership and other key stakeholders

  • Maintains and updates, as needed, the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform's policies and procedures

2.Supports financial management and integration priorities for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform

  • Assists with reviewing monthly financials provided by Moon Shots Operations to ensure that all charges are appropriate and provides necessary documentation

  • Assists with developing monthly financial reports for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform

  • Coordinates purchasing and reimbursement requests

  • Coordinates requests for ProCard purchases

  • Completes the processing of check request purchase requisitions

  • Under the guidance of the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform lead operating officer, assists in establishing controls to manage expenditures

3.Performs complex administrative tasks while coordinating and directing special projects for the Cancer Prevention & Control Platform team and the executive director

  • Schedules meetings and coordinates meeting set-up which includes coordinating attendees' calendars, room booking, catering, and equipment

  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates special events including on/off site Platform functions, employee recognition, and educational programs, including but not limited to planning, coordinating logistics, scheduling visits, arranging facilities, and catering

  • Acts as the primary liaison to outside vendors and coordinates delivery of purchases

  • Coordinates travel requests and travel bookings; calculates expenses and prepares expense reports/reimbursement requests

  • Interfaces with the IT team to resolve computer hardware and software problems, as well as to coordinate purchases of these assets

  • Performs other relevant duties and assists with ad hoc projects as assigned


Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in Public Health.


Required: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience or completed years of college on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Preferred: Experience in a Healthcare setting.
