The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Project Consultant is to develop strategies, provide consultation and educational services, and plan and oversee projects aimed at enhancing value based health care delivery systems of cancer through the Institute of Cancer Care Innovation. Manages both large and small scale projects. Provides statistical and qualitative analysis, process improvement activities and educational services to internal and external clients. Collaborates with leadership and across divisional lines to ensure alignment of projects and activities.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
•Collaborate with the Head of the Institute and Executive Leadership for ICCI to identify and forecast projects aimed at enhancing value based health care delivery for cancer.
•Identify potential clients and plan strategic outreach activities.
•Semiannually forecast future projects and determine Graduate Research Assistant staffing levels and qualifications.
•Manage large and small scale projects across institutional divisions and with external sources.
•Work with staff to develop project goals and project plans.
•Determine and secure necessary resources to complete projects.
•Track project milestones and ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards.
•Determine statistical and qualitative analysis needs for each project and work with staff to determine appropriate sources and methods.
•Develop and report on evaluation criteria for each project.
•Develop report and reconcile project budgets and grant submissions as necessary.
•Develop a repository for educational reference materials, research and presentations focused on the delivery of value based health care from cancer.
•Market the educational services of ICCI.
•Ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of the ICCI Educational Repository.
•Collaborate with clients on educational events aimed at the delivery of value based health care.
•Develop presentation materials as requested by Division Chair and clients
•Plan and conduct activities for Institutional visitors as necessary.
Consultation and communication
•Identify key stakeholders for each project and ensures a clear understanding of project scope, roles and deliverables.
•Keep Executive Leadership Committee, stakeholders and clients updated on the progress of all projects/deliverables.
•Provide consultative services for process improvement efforts and joint educational endeavors.
•Clearly and professionally communicate vision, strategies, and current/future project outcomes.
•Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Finance and other MD Anderson divisions to ensure alignment and coordination of projects.
•Collaborate with Division staff to ensure adequate administrative support.
•Collaborate with Division staff to develop, report and reconcile departmental budgets.
•Provide support for publications as defined in project scope.
•Establish position descriptions and position criteria for trainees.
•Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding for trainees.
•Set goals and provide daily supervision of trainees.
Other duties as assigned
Education: Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field.
Preferred Education: Master’s Level Degree
Experience: Three years of performance improvement work, research or consultant experience, to include survey methodology, data base research and statistical analysis.
Preferred Experience: Five years administrative experience to include two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a patient care environment.
