MD Anderson Cancer Center Protocol Research Information Specialist - Clinical Research Operations in Houston, Texas

KEY FUNCTIONS

Clinical Oncology Research (CORe) System on the Web

Serve as liaison between CORe system (web) users and programmers with issues and errors that occur in the CORe system (web)

Provide guidance and assistance for all CORe system web users in all aspects of the CORe system (web) via telephone or email.

Assist in defining and analyzing problems when CORe users call with issues.

Clinical Oncology Research (CORe) System Administrative Forms

Serve as liaison between the OPR staff and programmers with issues and errors that occur in the CORe administrative forms database.

Provide guidance and assistance for all OPR staff in all aspects of the CORe administrative forms database via telephone or email.

Assist in defining and analyzing problems when OPR staff call with issues for the CORe administrative forms database.

Testing and Documentation

Provides testing and documentation for new applications and changes in the CORe system (web).

Provides testing and documentation for new applications and changes in the CORe administrative forms database.

Provides testing, validation, and documentation for new data loads into the CORe system from the legacy system (PDMS).

Training and Education

Provides training for new applications or changes available in the CORe system (web) to the CORe system users.

Provides training for new applications or changes available in the CORe administrative database to the OPR staff.

Assists in creating bulletin messages that helps to update users of both systems of any changes, new applications, and new tools available in the CORe system (web and administrative forms).

CORe System Maintenance and Other Administrative Tasks

Provide input during design meetings from a user's perspective when dealing with complicated regulatory processes.

Sends notifications to users of both CORe web and CORe administrative forms of any system maintenance and schedules said maintenance when needed.

Assists in answering the CORe system help line and provide on call duties for after hours and on weekends.

Future: Job duties will transfer to eResearch for all of the above

eResearch Support

Provide ad-hoc reporting, data analysis, and validation as needed for migration of the legacy data to eResearch

Assist in the testing, data analysis, and validation of the systems.

Future eResearch Role

Developing forms within eResearch for the Regulatory office.

Assist in maintaining a library of forms for the departments and the regulatory office.

Assist in developing forms for the different departments as needed.

Education

Required: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field.

Experience

Required: Two years experience in database administration. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Experience with SQL

  • Midpoint Salary: US Dollar (USD) 57,400

  • Maximum Salary : US Dollar (USD) 70,000
