The primary purpose of the Receptionist is to provide and coordinate all tasks associated with assistance to patients, family members, and guests at the front desk and when answering telephones.
The salary range is: min-$23,600, mid-$29,500 and max-$35,400.
Communication with patients/family and multidisciplinary teams
Uses excellent oral communication and listening skills to meet the needs of the patients, families, and staff to facilitate patient flow to communicate patient wait times and answers questions about delays.
Communicates with patients upon check-in to ensure that demographic and insurance information is accurate and updates the information in the applicable computer system in a timely manner.
Forwards medical provider changes for patients per hospital protocol.
Provides information and directions to those needing assistance.
Notifies appropriate personnel of patient arrival and status, via alpha-pager and peoplesoft directory.
Record Maintenance and Mail
Collects, reconciles, and manages patient payments, and picks up and returns the co-payment bag to the cashier daily.
Registers all scheduled patients through the use of multi-screen computer system. Prints applicable medical record documents using Forms Anywhere. Screens and registers walk-in patients.
Organize file and patient folders.
Receive and send daily mail. Notify staff of received items at desk frompatients, staff and others.
Non-medical and office supplies:
Responsible for preparing office supply order (to include toner/waste boxes), and Fast Track snacks.
Receive and stock supplies and maintain office supplies par level.
Keep supply and storage room cabinets neat and organized.
Other duties as assigned
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required: Two years of front office, clerical or related experience.
Preferred: Two years experience in customer service in a healthcare setting.
Must pass pre-employment skills a test as required and administered by Human Resources.
