The goal of the department of Immunology is to perform multidisciplinary research and educational activities in basic and cancer research.

The salary range is min $ 34,400 mid $ 43,000 max $ 51,600

KEY FUNCTIONS:

1. Research and Development:

  • Research and development in the areas of Molecular Biology,

Immunology, Virology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry to include: FACS analysis, Animal studies, Western blotting, DNA & RNA isolation and

plasmid purification, radiation usage.

2. Cell Culture:

  • The ability to perform general cell culture procedures using sterile

technique, which would involve the growth and maintenance of

various cell lines. Maintain cell culture cell freezing, seeding, passage

and viability/growth analysis/cell death. Conduct molecular analysis in

tissue culture cells.

3. Record keeping and General lab duties:

  • Record keeping and data maintenance to meet supervisor, department/institute directives. Records experimental data by manually writing in a notebook or enter into a computer database. Collects and accurately calculates experimental data under the guidance of supervisor.

Prepares graphs and charts by using computer. Assists with general lab functions as directed by lab supervisor. Maintains condition of -80C

freezers in the laboratory. Participates on an "as needed basis" on

projects assigned by research supervisor.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
