MD Anderson Cancer Center Research Data Coordinator - Cancer Prevention Training Programs in Houston, Texas
The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree and experience with data analysis and experience with website development, study design and survey development.
The primary purpose of this position is to support of the research and curriculum development projects of the Cancer Prevention Research Training Program. Current projects are interdisciplinary and involve collaboration with a number of investigators, both internal and external to MD Anderson Cancer Center. The successful candidate will exercise good judgement, initiative, and independent decision making, and will be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
Job Specific Competencies
Project Coordination: Assist Principal Investigator and other staff with procedures including but not limited to: Coordinating working meetings, including organizing meeting agendas, minutes, and tracking assignments/action items and completion of tasks and project milestones; Communicating study objectives and procedures to prospective and actual study participants; Conducting participant recruitment under the direction of investigators; Contacting participants (phone, mail, email, project websites) for registration and follow up; Scheduling of study participants and administering informed consent and survey instruments when designated by investigators; Assist with preparation of website, presentations, and other study materials; Assists with the logistics of workshops and meetings related to implementing research and curriculum development projects; Conduct literature reviews/searches, retrieve information from online databases (e.g., PubMed, NIH RePORTER, etc.).
Protocol Coordination: Follow study protocol procedures, providing input as appropriate for changes, updates and revisions to survey instruments and data collection procedures; Identify and report needed protocol and procedural changes; Coordinating the ongoing implementation of the research protocol, and defining recruitment and retention strategies; Assists in the formatting, submission, and management of IRB/research protocols, and implementation of questionnaires, under the supervision of senior staff.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Review study data and ensure that it is entered/formatted correctly in the study databases; Organize study data and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses; Perform basic descriptive statistics; Under supervision of senior staff, analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant differences and relationships among variables of interest; Prepare tables, figures, and graphs to summarize and present data and analyses. Prepares drafts of text for abstracts, posters, and reports. Assists with the assembly of reports and preparation of presentation slides.
Data Coordination and Management: Track and maintain records of recruitment and participation; Maintain confidential study files and records in an organized and secure manner, including participant contact information, consent forms, data code sheets, and other relevant materials; Must be able to compare database and file material on an ongoing basis; Must be able to build and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree.
Experience: Two years of related experience. No experience required with preferred education.
Preferred: Experience with website development, study design and survey development. Experience with REDCap or other related online survey tools.
