Research Data Collection

Creates study tools to facilitate collection of protocol data points according to study calendar. Able to extract clinical research data from source documents. Enters protocol-specific data into the appropriate database. Collaborates with physician, study team, and departmental protocol administration team to complete financial and regulatory tasks as assigned. Contributes to milestone logs of patient activity to assist in hospital account reconciliation and to facilitate compensation from sponsors of clinical trials as assigned.

Communication Skills

Sets up patient visits and schedules of diagnostic events according to study calendar. Contacts patients by phone to give updates, mails out schedules as needed. Contacts ancillary departments to request and facilitate overbooks for diagnostic services in order to meet protocol requirements. Coordinates consultation with other departments to schedule evaluation of eligibility and adverse event documentation and treatment to avoid treatment delays and deviations from study calendar.

Other Responsibilities

Assist in retrieval of pathology slides/blocks and mail as specified in protocols. Assist in transportation of blood/tissue specimens between lab and clinic as needed by protocol. Manages minimal risk protocols independently. Performs protocol-specific tasks including screening, ordering tests, collecting specimens and study documentation of patient reported responses. Collects, processes, stores, and ships blood, tissue and other body fluid specimens according to institutional and protocol specific guidelines.


Minimum: $33,200 – Midpoint: $41,500 – Maximum: $49,800


Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree.


Required: Two years of related experience. May substitute required experience with completed years of college on a one to one basis.
