SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Coord, Research Data position is to provide administrative and patient care services for the coordination of clinical research studies for the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Specimen Collection and Processing Responsibilities include consenting patients, collection, and distribution of patient/specimen samples from clinical and research laboratories at MD Anderson locations. Follows and adheres to patient sample guidelines for specimen collection and handling. Documents and reconciles patient's enrollment and sample collection data. Compiles with lab policies, technical procedures, safety rules, and infection control policies. Responsible for the transportation of samples to the Institutional Tissue Bank and delivery of sample collection supplies to various clinics at MD Anderson.

Data Recording and Management Extract patient consent reports from CORe and other institutional databases like MOCLIA. Track patient consents and follow-ups for various clinical studies. Maintain records for consent training. Labeling and recording sample collections. Data entry into appropriate databases and providing reports as requested by manager and/or PI.

High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred degree: Bachelor's degree Two years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
