MD Anderson Cancer Center Research Histology Technician - Translational Molecular Pathology in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Research Histology Technician position is to provide technical skills in the preparation of tissue specimens for research experiments. The scope of the position is to impact the production of quality histology preparations to be used for research purposes.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Performance of Routine Histological Procedures Performs all routine histological procedures, frozen and other specialized sectioning (to include LCM sectioning and preparation, micron intervals, paraffin shavings and thick sectioning) and staining, and all other procedures utilized in the Research Histology Core Laboratory in a proficient manner.
Technical Expertise Work independently, follow standard operating procedures and policies and use good judgment. Work proficiently and independently from satellite sites and maintain work quality and quantity. Proficient in the use of Histology Laboratory equipment.
iLabs System Operation and Management Perform basic or entry level molecular pathology techniques. Entry level knowledge of the use of Histology Chargeback System (iLabs).
Record keeping and data collection: Assist in maintaining inventory, supplies and maintain proper maintenance on equipment.
Continuing Education Continue education through current literature, workshops and State and National Conferences.
