MD Anderson Cancer Center Senior Administrative Assistant, Global Business Development in Houston, Texas

The Sr. Administrative Assistant in Global Business Development at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides administrative support to Executive Director level positions as well as Project Management positions in Business Development. This position assists in providing a full range of support services for identified Business Development matters with varying degree of complexity.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who is highly organized and able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.


  • Manage administrative aspects of workflow and day to day operations for Executive Director(s) and Project Manager(s), including maintaining complex calendars for each.

  • Schedule and coordinate high frequency of meetings which include MDACC leadership/physicians/other staff as well as client's leadership/physicians/other staff.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of professional staff to ensure key individuals are present at meetings.

  • Prepare agendas and meeting materials for distribution.

  • Facilitate arrangements for extensive travel.

  • Prepare and process Concur authorizations and travel reimbursement/expense forms.

  • Compose and manually type emails, memos and letters, and prepare graphs, charts and spreadsheets.

  • Transcribe, proofread, edit and format administrative correspondence and reports. Create and/or coordinate preparation of professional quality presentations.

  • Receive, place, screen and transfer calls using appropriate telephone etiquette; respond to telephone information requests with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality. Take complete telephone messages.

  • Coordinate special projects as assigned.

  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and make decisions and resolve problems in the absence of supervisory personnel.



Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree.


Required: Five years of administrative/secretarial experience.

With the preferred degree, one year of required experience.
