MD Anderson Cancer Center Senior Administrative Assistant - Translational Molecular Pathology in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Senior Administrative Assistant position is to provide complex administrative and secretarial support to assigned faculty and department. The Sr. AA will use independent judgment, problem solving, prioritization of tasks, and independent planning and implementation of projects.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Administrative Function 1. Provides comprehensive administrative/secretarial support to include assistance with manuscripts, CV, and abstracts.
Compose formal and informal correspondence and documents, creates, edits, and formats presentation, and compiles reports as needed.
Maintains physician's licenses and certifications.
Manages faculty calendars while appropriately communicating with faculty of any date and time conflicts, confirmation of completed requests, and meeting reminders.
Prepare and coordinates travel itineraries for assigned faculty within the Concur System Database, and ensures timely submissions for reimbursement expense reports.
Manage and update curriculum vitae monthly in the Faculty Information System (FIS).
Support Departmental Recruiting Efforts Schedule candidate interviews for faculty. Communicate with management once candidate has been identified. Assist with the coordination and management of visa support efforts for faculty's new and current personnel, including collecting required documentation and working closely with department management.
Departmental Inventory and Space Management Assist with coordination and management of the Departmental inventory and space assignments for new and current personnel, including communication with facilities/LIS for requests, and requesting and assigning equipment to new employees and maintaining central database.
Kronos Time Management Manage the weekly pay period closeout, as assigned for the dept.
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of administrative/secretarial experience. With preferred degree, one year of required experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
