Title: Senior Financial Analyst – Fulltime – Lymphoma/Myeloma

Account Management and Reconciliation

Oversee administrative support staff in the quarterly update and reconciliation of departmental staff development funds, quarterly reports to PRS, negotiate annual carryover of funds based on reconciliation.

Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting of all departmental funds.

Develop and maintain procedures for the reconciliation processes.

Interact with all levels of personnel within the department, other institutional departments, as well as outside companies to resolve problems/errors or questions regarding basic accounting reconciliation items.

Audit processes to measure actual versus expected account performance and make recommendations on future obligations.

Financial Management and Operational Reporting

This role manages an accounting team of 4

Annual budget planning

Analyze financial reports

Manage funds across projects

Oversee the monitoring of balances and tracking of income and expenses for all department co/centers.

Prepare basic accounting data items such as journal vouchers for entry into the accounting system.

Initiate contact with departmental representatives, other agencies or personnel to resolve problems and questions regarding basic accounting data items.

Assist in developing the clinical/research departmental budget and provide related budgetary and financial reports.

Research and recommend solutions to favorable/unfavorable variances in quarterly variance reports for the Division office.

Initiate, design, and implement accounting procedures according to institutional, divisional, and departmental guidelines/requirements and controls for subsystems within each departmental administrative and research section.

Prepares feasibility reports.

Prepares quarterly variance reports for submission to DoCM.

Prepares and presents quarterly financial summaries for scientists.

Prepares a variety of ad hoc reports using different data sources.

Budget Preparation

Consults with other departmental and institution-wide personnel for budgetary expenditure, financial data processing and reporting requirements.

During the annual budget process, assist with projections for revenue and expenses.

Assist with the preparation of grant budgets.

Help to maintain department grants and contracts database.

Personnel Management

Recruits, hires, orients and train the accounting support personnel.

Completes yearly performance evaluations and conducts coaching and counseling sessions as appropriate. Provide written documentation as needed.

Manages and evaluates productivity, performance, and the training and development needs of staff.

Instructs new personnel on new financial systems and applications.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business specialty.

Experience Required: Five years' experience in data analysis, accounting or financial project management.

Experience Preferred: Previous management and healthcare experience

Salary Range: Min $68,400 Mid $85,500 Max $102,600
