MD Anderson Cancer Center Senior Research Data Coordinator Tobacco Research Programs in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Sr. Coordinator, Research Data (Sr. RDC) position is to provide administrative and community-facing support in service of coordinating a community-based program of research focused on reducing tobacco-related disparities. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining project spreadsheets and listservs; compiling project and metrics for reporting; executing project purchasing needs; building databases/tracking spreadsheets for data organization; as well as working closely with the implementation team on community-facing coordination activities like coordinating registration of project partners for trainings, identifying and recruiting community partner agencies, coordinating recruitment meetings, creating and updating program implementation guides, and producing detailed summaries of activities/meetings.
The ideal candidate will have experience in research data coordination, have experience in tobacco health disparities work, feel comfortable communicating and working closely with community partners, and be willing to assist with academic product co-authorship.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Research/Project Coordination Participate in multidisciplinary study team to implement community-based dissemination and implementation tobacco control research; Understand study objectives and coordinate relevant activities (e.g., development of materials, trainings); contribute to meeting agendas and report out during weekly team meetings; support recruitment objectives by identifying potential recruits, engaging with external stakeholders and coordinating meetings to present program and work with the study team and stakeholders to collect and track data reports and ensure data is properly stored.
Build and Maintain Relationships Expand outreach efforts to various healthcare and community centers through the identification and development of community partnerships; and promote collegiality that demonstrates respect and professionalism to community stakeholders at all times.
Documentation Support study team by carefully creating detailed and accurate summaries throughout the implementation of community-based tobacco control research; carefully tracking and maintaining records of recruitment, implementation, and dissemination; Maintain confidential study files and records in an organized and secure manner, including contact information, data, and other relevant materials.
Communication Express ideas clearly and concisely in groups and one-to-one conversations; Ensure that relevant team members understand progress and outcomes of your work; Value and engage in quick and efficient communication with team members; Maintain respectful and clear communication to maintain collegial relationships with the research team (day-to-day grant coordination), departmental administrative staff (for purchasing, vendor set-up, etc.), community partners (for recruitment, activity coordination such training registration, etc.), and vendors (for printing, etc.).

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree or to be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Four years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
Preferred: Two years of research data coordinating experiencing and or working for a tobacco control research program
CERTIFICATION:
Preferred: Any research related certifications.
