The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to

education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals,
employees and the public.
The salary range is min $ 38,800 mid $ 48,500 max $ 58,200
1. Administrative Support:
- Spends the majority of time supporting administrative functions in compliance with all institutional, governmental and/or grant policies or guidelines; screens calls and receives/directs visitors. Uses independent judgment and complex analysis to gather facts and determine appropriate solutions generally based on past experience and department practice. Processes confidential paperwork and maintains various records.
2. Faculty Support:
- Type abstracts and manuscripts, Maintains calendar for faculty. Maintains general office files, Arranges conferences according to department specifications, including booking rooms, catering, and equipment. Prepare, type, and submit check requests and lecture consultant requests. Locate and copy journal articles from various reference areas.
- Composes formal and informal correspondence, maintains and updates CVs and biosketches. Makes travel arrangements and prepares reimbursement requests, prepares check requests, schedules meetings, arranges for conference rooms, and prepares catering requests.
4. Special Projects:
- Participates in the planning of special projects and initiatives of the department, including leadership events, development and alumni functions, and assists in preparation for other major events or initiatives. Provides administrative staff support for meetings and committees as directed; schedules meetings, room, invites participants, and coordinates other meeting arrangements; prepares and distributes minutes of meetings, as needed.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Specialized training in secretarial skills (such as word processing and business).
Required: Four years of secretarial experience including advanced secretarial duties.
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills a test as required and administered by Human Resources.
