MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Facilities Project Manager - Grounds and Landscaping Operations in Houston, Texas

Ideal candidate will have a Landscape Architect License, five years of landscape architecture design and/or construction experience, budget and contract management experience.
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Senior Facilities Project Manager (FPM) - Grounds and Landscaping position is to provide project and program management, technical support services in development of standards and scope of requirements, and operational field support to property managers and project delivery teams, professional design and construction administration services, and coordination with mission areas. The position's responsibilities include oversight of exterior site operations and infrastructure systems and support of facilities maintenance service contract development, administration, inspection, and acceptance of outsourced site services including grounds and landscaping and maintenance, repair, and construction supporting RAF Site Operations. The FPM is responsible for Grounds and Landscaping operations, the exterior site environment of care, and both fiscal and technical oversight of all activities of the RAF Site Operations work unit.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Environment of Care Oversight
Provides direction and guidance in establishing a healing exterior Environment of Care in our exterior public spaces serving as the institution's subject matter expert regarding grounds and landscaping services.
Supports the enhancement of the MD Anderson reputation through active participation with Public Relations, Development, Integrated Medicine, Patient Care and outside programs that position MD Anderson to be the grounds and landscaping leader in the Texas Medical Center in the exterior Environment of Care area of support and an advocate of landscaping's beneficial effects on patients, visitors, and staff.
Project Management of Grounds and Site Infrastructure Systems
Develops and coordinates the outsourced contract documents and scope requirements for grounds and landscaping operations and supported site infrastructure.
Has the lead responsibility to develop contract maintenance operations objectives and establish performance goals.
Monitors and evaluates infrastructure.
Has the leader responsibility to develop contract maintenance operations objectives and establish performance goals.
Monitors and evaluates project work and maintenance actions for compliance with all federal, state, local, and UT System regulations.
Provides field support services with problem resolution, approaches, scoping and inspections for the Houston area campus locations and the Smithville and Bastrop science parks on the request of the property managers.
Monitors and evaluates project controls including scheduling requirements, quality, and operational impact.
Technical Support of Grounds and Site Infrastructure Systems
Serves as technical support and contract manager of outsourced grounds and landscaping and site infrastructure operations including site drainage, fountains, irrigation systems, water recovery, and site hardscape.
Establishes and coordinates with MD Anderson subject matter experts in the development of site infrastructure systems, drainage, water recovery and reuse, site lighting, and site irrigation.
Assists and takes the lead with Site Operations personnel in the development technical specifications and standards to support maintenance operations and repair and construction projects including capital improvement projects.
Project Design/Support
Provides landscape architecture design services in the development of studies, reports, and construction bid documents.
Completes designs with the proper balance of quality, cost, and schedule.
Assures compliance with applicable building codes and institutional standards.
Assists with the review and update of MD Anderson's Owner Design Guidelines.
Provides landscape architecture project support services: Coordinates Department reviews of projects. Acts as liaison with external consulting landscape architects and other professionals. Provides written comments on their design plans and specifications. Reviews contractor submittals for compliance with contract documents. Answers contractor RFIs (requests for information). Visits construction sites to determine compliance with design intent.
Other duties as assigned
Required: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or other construction related Architectural Engineering field or related discipline. Five years of project management/construction experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Master's degree. Landscape Architect License - Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. Landscape Irrigator License - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within 180 days of job entry. Pesticide Commercial/Noncommercial Applicator License -State of Texas Department of Agriculture. Five years of landscape architecture design and/or construction experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
