MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Philanthropy Reporting Analyst in Houston, Texas

The Campaign Decision Science team is dedicated to building an end-to-end analytics solution to provide business insights, improve decision-making and provide empirical assessment of performance at the institutional, divisional and team levels with respect to constituent engagement and philanthropy.
In advancement of the institution's largest philanthropic campaign in history, MD Anderson is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Reporting Analyst to provide reporting and data visualization solutions to the division in support of fundraising initiatives and efforts. Responsibilities include, analysis, design, development and implementation of business reports and dashboards that will monitor performance and quality control along with providing solutions that meet the informational needs of the division.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Reporting and Dashboard Development (75%)
Develop Business Intelligence (BI) reports, scorecards and dashboards, based on specifications as requested.
Develop and modify existing Tableau/Power BI/Crystal/Business Objects reports.
Support ad hoc data requests.
Schedule and distribute reports utilizing Institutional Reporting Enterprise - SAP Business Intelligence.
Act as champion for BI benefits across the department; promote BI usage
Works with internal customers and partners to gather and validate requirements
Develops and writes business requirements for the design of solutions/reports
May determine and analyze commonly used queries and reports
Researches business problems and assists in the creation of models that help analyze these problems
End-user Training and Support (10%)
Develop report end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
End-user support for issues related to reports, dashboards, and fundraising systems.
Data Analysis (15%)
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Works with team leaders and members to solve client analytics problems and documents results and methodologies
Works in iterative processes and validates findings
Performs experimental design approaches to validate finding or test hypotheses
Validates analysis by comparing appropriate samples
Employs the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Four years of experience in business analysis or related technical experience.
Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SAP BI (Crystal Reports), SAP BI CMC and Tableau (dashboard technologies). Experience with Salesforce reporting is a plus. Experience working for advancement services or fundraising organizations or similar field and have a viable understanding of information systems. Ability to communicate with end-users, effectively understanding their needs and communicating appropriate expectations to them. Adaptable to change and able to interact with co-workers and end-users in a positive manner.
