The University of Texas at Houston Police Department (UT Police) provides law enforcement and community services to the MD Anderson Cancer Center and UT Health Science Center at Houston institutions. Both institutions are located within the Texas Medical Center with additional locations throughout the Houston metropolitan area.

We are currently accepting applications for a Sr. Police Telecommunicator. The primary function of a Senior Police Telecommunicator is to coordinate and record security and technical support activities. The Sr. Police Telecommunicator:
Dispatches and managesnon-emergency calls and ensures prompt security officer/technician response torequests for services or assistance.
Processes incoming emergency (9-1-1) requests for police services, CodeBlue alarms, and security alarm response.
Performs data entry into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, toprovide emergency or crime data and information to safeguard the responding lawenforcement officers, security personnel, and the public.
Performs multiple tasks concurrently whileworking in an intense and fast paced environment and maintaining aprofessional, poised, positive, and calming demeanor.
Minimum: $39,200 Midpoint: $49,000 Maximum: $58,800
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required: Two years of experience in emergency management or public safety communications.
Required: Basic Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Telecommunications Operator certification.
Must successfully complete the Public Safety Telecommunication (PST) Test obtained from the International Personnel Management Association and administered by the Police Department.
