MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Refrigeration Mechanic - Sat/Sun 7am-7:30pm; Mon/Tues 3pm-11:30pm in Houston, Texas
Work Schedule: Sat/Sun 7am-7:30pm ; Mon/Tues 3pm-11:30pm
Serves as an HVAC and Refrigeration member of the PM team.
Monitors and troubleshoots refrigeration systems through BAS systems and/or other diagnostic tools. Follows schedule of preventive maintenance and makes recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems. Investigates outages. Inspects jobs on completion for compliance to work requests, job requirements, specifications, and applicable codes.
Coordinates and prioritizes the workflow of technicians and mechanics. Participates in the development of the "Owners Design Guidelines", project design phases and review processes. Functions as a point of contact for vendors. Prepares and submits reports. Participates in process improvement initiatives. May precept staff.
Installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration equipment
Installs, repairs, and maintains environmental rooms and ice machines.
Understands the use of all hand and shop tools of the trade.
Requisitions materials and maintain inventory.
The employee may be expected to be part of an on-call group.
Provide complete information to accurately document corrective action, labor hours, and materials used on work orders.
Timely communication to supervisor of any other issues encountered during the performance of work.
Respond to customer calls and provide customer services.
Emergency responses for facilities including code red.
High school diploma or equivalent. Eight years experience in a mechanical field to include commercial installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration or other mechanical environments. Seven years of experience required with preferred Associates degree, as referenced by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). Six years of experience required with preferred Bachelors degree, as referenced by the TDLR.
Universal Certification by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
