MD Anderson Cancer Center Supervisor Public Safety in Houston, Texas
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Supervisor, Public Safety position is to plan and supervise the daily activities of UTPD Public Safety Officers and Senior Public Safety Officers, to be the main contact and resolution point for building occupants in order to resolve security and safety issues, and to maintain and implement policies, procedures and operational plans for ensuring safety and security.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Coordinate with Police personnel as necessary to maintain standards, effective communication, and continuous improvement processes for delivery of security services in their assigned area.
Develop, train and evaluate personnel to meet professional standards and customer expectations.
Through observation and patrol, safeguard institutional property, identify security issues and enforce institutional rules and regulations.
In emergencies, observe, report and facilitate the orderly response to and if necessary, evacuation of buildings and structures.
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required:Five years of experience in a security or related field to include two years of supervisory/team lead experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Valid Texas Class A, B, or C driver's license. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
