MD Anderson Cancer Center Supervisor, Research Data Coordinator in Houston, Texas
The primary purpose of the Supervisor Research Data Coordinator position is to supervise and coordinate the administrative and patient care services for the coordination of research studies in the department of Health Disparities Research.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Coordinates schedules, assignments and provides cross-coverage.
Monitors and assesses staff workload and productivity levels.
Conducts initial staff orientation and provides continuing education and training.
Supervise assigned personnel and manage personnel issues including personnel training, completion of performance evaluations, coaching and motivating staff.
Assist with interviewing potential candidates and provide recommendations for employment and termination.
Conducts internal audits of protocols as requested. Provide quality assurance checks to ensure that all databases are updated and backed up regularly. Maintains current scientific, technical and regulatory environment information.
Organizes and maintains records of program completion status for studies in the department.
Maintain contacts with study participants to obtain their follow-up information for program evaluation.
Coordinates and maintains records for the distribution of program incentives. Assist with development of program timelines and monitor progress towards meeting program goals and deliverables.
Coordinates research samples to ensure proper collection and distribution and troubleshoots problems arising from sample collection and distribution. Oversees the writing of abstracts, manuscripts and grants and the preparation of information and reports for grant submission.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Seven years research study experience to include previous experience in a supervisory or lead role. With preferred degree, three years of required experience to include previous experience in a supervisory or lead role. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
OTHER:
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
