Min: $98,500 Mid: $123,000 Max: $147,500 - this position also qualifies for a $10,000 retention bonus paid out over a 2 year period.
The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm. This position requires MLS ASCP and SBB ASCP certifications

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Oversight of Technical Specialist
Collaborates with Transfusion Medicine leadership in the selection test/instrument methodology for implementation and validation planning
Plans, develops and implements new serological testing methodologies as needed
Writes and performs validations for all test methods as needed
Maintains Standard operating procedures, policies forms, and job aids and ensure up to date compliance with best practices and most current regulatory standards
Serves as Document Control Expert foe the Transfusion Service
Monitors the Quality System and manages Deviations and FDA reportable events
Collaborates with Transfusion Medicine Leadership to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement projects through analysis of data to advance and improve the department
Provides educational activities to staff as requested
Ensures regulatory/Quality preparedness at all times.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory and safety standards and enforces policies and procedures.
Reviews and assess compliance within the laboratory section with regulatory standards AABB, FDA, JCAHO, CLIA and others.
Inform department leaders of non-compliance and identity opportunities for improvement. Partner with department leaders and staff to implement changes and coordinate tracking system to monitor compliance
Documents receipt, routing, and completion of CAP proficiency testing and follows up with supervisors on any unacceptable results for corrective actions and reply to CAP.
Maintain procedure manuals, education records, quality and all CAP and CLIA standards.
Prepare documents and reports as needed for quality oversight committees
Serve as a technical expert and resource for staff and internal customers.
Perform audits as assigned
Manages customer service interactions and relationships with diplomacy and professionalism.
Initiate, develop, and manage relationships and networks
Collaborates with other departments on special projects as assigned

EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree Related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology. Required or Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program. Required Master's Degree Related science field. Preferred or Doctorate Related science field. Preferred WORK EXPERIENCE - 9 years Clinical laboratory experience to include 3 years in blood banking with a Bachelor's degree in a related science field. Required or 8 years Clinical laboratory experience to include 3 years in blood banking with the completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program. Required or 6 years Clinical laboratory experience to include 3 years in blood banking with a Master's degree. Required or 4 years Clinical laboratory experience to include 3 years in blood banking with a Doctorate degree.
